RESELLER SERVER LOADING

Posted by Ireland, 03-07-2010, 05:55 PM
I need some direction to answer a question. I have two different reseller accounts with two different resellers. Both have been high quality and fantastic support. Up until this weekend there has never been any question. One server recently had problems being accessed via FRONTIERNET DSL while at the same time the other had no problem. Frontiernet tech support said it was DSL routing packets (whatever that means) then they said it was my server being overloaded and timing out. My server tech support tried to do a reverse tracert to my IP and it would time out as it did for me to do a tracert to the domain. Question, is there a way to test the same site on each reseller server? Here are the URLs to the two sites which are the same but on the two different servers. Server 1 at verenservices.net Server 2 at verenservices.com I look forward to any help or input on this matter.

these were both taken from the connection in my apartment in Dublin using Vodafone Ireland as ISP. One thing to remember is that different ISP's route their traffic through different places, sho whilst you may be having an issue getting one server and not the other and only appears to be happening from one location, it could all be down to how your DSL ISP is routing the traffic and whom they are peering with etc etc. I would try running more traceroutes from other places and see if you can get a consensus as to where exactly the problem may lie, best of luck

Thanks Mark, I am at a location using Frontiernet DSL and I could get to all sites on serve 2 but on server 1 I could not get to any sites including my CapitalCeltic.com site. I hope to get some help from other folks on WHT and see if they have any problems with server 1 over server 2. Tomorrow I will be at a VERIZON Fios connection to tracert the domains. Neither reseller server has ever given me any problems until I got a few clients accessing via Frontiernet DSL. The Best,

Yeah, for sure it appears that it is a routing issue with frontiernet, since you have several people trying to connect on that service and they can not access server1 it is a smoking gun that the issue is with a route that they are using to that DC, as I said earlier, not all ISP's will route traffic through the same connections, it all depends on whom they peer with

you can access to your website through proxy website...

It's not a solution because you can't ask visitors to access website via proxy. Not neccessary. You can test connection by ping server ip and nameservers.

this problem occur only to your connections... other visitors didnt access through proxy...

If you re-read the OP, clients on server1 that are on fronteirnet are not able to access their sites, therefore he can not ask them to use a proxy, one that is very very bad business advise, and two using a proxy may open their PC to attack

These Tracerts were taken in Elliot Lake, ON, Canada. In my home network. Using my ISP Eastlink.

Thanks everyone! As of today March 9th it appears Frontiernet got their DSL fixed. Well, clients can get their sites today from that ISP. I will check it again this weekend. It appears there may be a weekend problem with DSL :-( I'll keep ya'll posted. Regards,
