Need a good reseller

Posted by TonySoprano, 05-22-2007, 04:18 AM
Hello I have a lot of small sites I need to host. I need quality reseller host that provides following 1. WHM with Remote Access Key support 2. Transfer options enabled at WHM so I can move accounts myself 3. 24/7 live support Price is not a problem. Quality of service is what I need. Looked up at HostGator and having problems with 2. there since they have to move those accounts them selves...

Tony, I guess you won't get any recomendantions here. Use WHT toll to make request correctly.

Hello Tony Only root have access to account transfers, however, you can ask to your host to do it or you can make full backups on your old host and then ask to your new host to restore them. How many accounts do you have to move? how much space and bandwidth is required?

Hey Tony, My recomendation is hostnine. Not sure how helpful I am at answering all your quesstions but you can either call or jumb on live chat and there sales and support staff is very helpful.

1. WHM with Remote Access Key support - Standard offering for cPanel based reseller accounts 2. Transfer options enabled at WHM so I can move accounts myself - As Jedito stated this is not possible so the host will need to do it maybe via backups you generated and put into your web space. The other option is to get a small VPS with cPanel so that you can do the transfers yourself. 3. 24/7 live support A lot advertise it but may not actually staff their live chat 24/7 but just their ticket system.

I recommend Hostdime. They generally reply messages within a one hour and resolve the problems quickly. But you cannot restore all of your sites at once on WHM. Reseller hostings don't allow this. You must buy a server to make this.

This is also largely contingent on your existing host. You may want to check with them to ensure that they are set up to allow outgoing transfers.

Hi You would be better with a VPS than a reseller plan that way you have root access and all will have all of Cpanel and WHM options available to you and also more stable Why not have a look in the Offer section on WHT Well thats my opinion Thanks

Two that I have used in the past and worked very well were Dotable http://www.dotable.com and DigitallyJustified http://www.digitallyjustified.com

One thing to note with a VPS is that it will generally require quite a bit more knowledge and time administering the VPS compared to a reseller account. If you're able to get by with just having your host transfer the accounts for you (since as others have stated, the transfer tool is a root feature), it would probably be best to find a host that allows you to request for them to transfer accounts into your reseller account. If you do require to be able to transfer accounts yourself using the tool, then a VPS may be your only option.
