Atlassian Confluence + CPanel

Is it possible to run Atlassian Confluence on my server container alongside my other websites or would there be a major performance impact on the site? The container is running with 4gb of dedicated ram with the ability for more. I have control over the Vmware ESXi so I can increase its allocated resources (only one VM running under ESXi)

What is the average current load on your server during peak times? I would keep confluence on a separate environment than sharing it with other websites or applications.

It really depends on how much ram you can dedicate to Confluence. As a java based website it uses a lot of resources. If I remember correctly just the basic install with a small user base is going to easily use 1gb of ram.

I am running Confluence in a VPS with 1 GB RAM and have noticed that the memory utilization is around 70-75% during peak times and around 30-35% during idle time. However, as mentioned earlier, I would keep it isolated than share it with others.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep it isolated then. Is there a suggestion on the control panel for the apache server I should run on the server running confluence.

You don't need any control panel. If at all you feel you need one, try webmin.
