suhosin with LightSpeed ?

Posted by boxer, 06-01-2010, 01:11 PM
Hi there, I have some question actually regarding the LigthSpeed Apache installation; It's first time i use Lightspeed and install it actually so please excuse me if there any noob question. When i finish installing the 'Free' LightSpeed Edition it has open 2 ports http://localhost:8088 < webpage http://localhost:7080 < admin control panel Now how can i change the port 8088 to default port "80" for browsing a website or forum? and how can i enable the suPHP and patching the LightSpeed with noexec_family ? and if there any installation for suhosin with LightSpeed? If there any url for thread talking about how-to do that would be helpful. Thanks,

Are you talking about "litespeed" web server? Wanted to make sure before saying things and they be wrong. The one at http://litespeedtech.com I've been using that for some time, if that is what you are talking about.

Yes, you can change the port to 80, but you need to disable Apache or change the port on where Apache is going to work, you can't have both on the same port. You can set in the way that you want that PHP works in the setup and on the admin section. Suhosin works directly with PHP, therefore it can be installed like in any other web server.

Yes, this is dear. Dear Jedito, could you give me any url in how to change the port for the Apache server ? so i can change it in the lightspeed, because seriously am newbie in this kind, and don't think that i can pay for that work Thanks all.

Why would you like to keep both webserver working? I mean, why don't you use just one of them?

I just need actually to use lightspeed, because i know that lightspeed can handle a DDoS attack, not a huge attack of course, so if there anyway to uninstall the apache and configure Lightspeed to run in port 80?

Do you mean lighttpd or litespeed? are two different web servers.

No i mean lightspeed, i mean i need to remove the apache http server and make lightspeed work in the port 80.

Boxer, Not sure what the major confusion is on your part. When you ran the install script (install.sh) for LiteSpeed one of the options is to select what port you want LiteSpeed to run on, you can change both of those ports easily, just rerun the install script. For Apache, been so long since I've had to do it, but the configuration files should allow you to change the port it is listening on. Some do continue to run an Apache install behind the scene as I understand LS does not support Server Side Includes, although I haven't used those in years either. Really isn't this a thread to take to the LiteSpeed forum on their site? Also to help you out it is LITESPEED not LIGHTSPEED, you don't want to confuse people

Jame, Sorry for miss spelling the word, English not my mother language, i will try to install it again and let you know. Thank you.

No big deal on the word, it wasn't really spelled wrong per say "light" is proper spelling, the company just doesn't spell it that way, hence my mention of it so as to avoid confusion.

not need of re-installing, just disable httpd, and change the offset port of Litespeed on the admin section.

True that will work as well, just seemed easier to tell him to rerun the install script, it doesn't sound like he has changed any settings yet.
