Problems moving a H-Sphere account.

Hi I've started to get problems with a host and I'm thinking of migrating my account elsewhere - is moving account and databases etc as easy as cpanel/whm seems to be? Bob

Hsphere to Hsphere should be as simple as ftp and backing up and resetting up your databases. If you use the same login/nameservers etc. it will be almost seamless. However you will have to recreate any mail accounts you have already.

If it's a reseller account, then no, this is not something you can do. You'd have to do it manually. Basically, FTP, along with phpmyadmin, would be how you would import your files. If you have a reseller account, all accounts would have to be manually recreated at your new provider, and then domains/settings added, before uploading your files. The best way to do a H-Sphere -- H-Sphere migration is to use the compress, and decompress tools inbuilt into webshell. These will allow you to move vast quantities of data, a lot easier, and a lot quicker Simon

That is good advice, I did it alittle different I tar all the files and backup the Mysql databases and re did the reseller and all accounts by hand before I knew that there were scripts that could do it. But I could not get them as the cost to have them do it was at the time more than the time it would take me to do it as my system was small. I moved a reseller once and it was not too bad and you just have to make sure that your customers keep up to date on email as it could take some time because you will be changing IPs
