How do I update Awstats software on a cPanel server
Posted by beefychong, 10-27-2009, 09:00 AM |
Hi,
I would like to know if Awstats (the software itself, not the data) is updated automatically on cPanel based servers?
If not, is there a way to update it manually?
Thank you for your help!

Hi,
Seems it possible to update the awstats to the new version . Please go through the link awstats.sourceforge.net . You can download the latest version 6.9 and its documents from there . Please go ahead with that. Note that you need root access to do this.
Regards,
Ramsh

cPanel can update most of server-side modules automatically, can't it?

cPanel usually automatically updates itself, but in the case you cannot automatically update , you can force cPanel to update itself.
You can follow the steps;
* Login to SSH as ROOT
* Run the command: /scripts/upcp -force
* After running the command, run: service cpanel restart to confirm that all services have been restarted after being updated.
