I want to inquire my host company about changing my personal account to a reseller account. I don't pay much monthly but I have more than enough storage (500 mb) and bandwidth (30gb). I am using CPanel version 7 and the admin told me that I am the only person that can access the main control panel. However, I heard somewhere in WHT, you can give access to the control panel using CPanel. 1) Is it possible to give control panel access to my clients ?

You only have one login for your cPanel, if you wanted to give a little space to other people, you could create a subdomain, direct it to a folder on your account then create an FTP account with access to that folder. If you want them to actually have their own control panel, you would need a reseller account with webhost manager.

Once I create an FTP account for them, can they use their personal domain or does it have to be client.mydomain.com?

You can do addon domains. BUT you really should get a reseller account if you are really going to start hosting.

You also might want to read your host's TOS, many do not allow you to resell you space.

You could use addon domains and your friends could access their website via www.domain.com however they won't have their own control panel. AFAIK there's only one control panel, yours. As others have suggested I would recommend getting a resellers account which start as low as $9.99/mo from a reputable web host which offers 24/7 support. With a resellers account each of your "clients" will have their own cPanel control panel accessible by going to domain.com/cpanel
