I tried out the free version a while back, and it did the job.
But for the difference in price, I went with phpmanger.

I think the safemod does not help phpmanager much.
make sure Mcrypt is installed also.

Hi,
if you have zend optimiser installed, then you can use the zend encrypted scripts which don't require safe mode to be off.

ehosting4les, I am still running the very first version of phpmanager v1.0, with safemode on. You do not need to have Mcrypt installed for v1.0
v1.0 is still available for download in the member center when you purchase your license. In fact there are 3 diferent versions that are available for download there.
I don't need a lot of bells and whistles, so I am sticking to v1.0 for now.
I found all versions very easy to install. (tried them all)
Good luck!

So I should purchase it now, d/l 1.0, and wait for my host to install mycrypt on my server? They did put zend in, but say system is stable now, and do not want to recompile php in order to install mycrypt

Yes, just run v1.0 for now. You can always upgrade (for free) when your host installs mycrypt.
