You can open a US-based bank account with TD Waterhouse. Their website is www.tdwaterhouse.com or www.waterhousebank.com. If you do not live in US or Canada, you have to fill out a paper application form as opposed to applying online. They charge $6.95/month for the account. This fee is waived for their US and Canadian brokerage account customers.

Hi I also need an account with US bank. I need this to transfer my money from clickbank. Is there any who accepts from overseas and does online banking? I did not understood this from the thread. Regards

The are many US banks that offer online service. TD Waterhouse does provide such service. Whether it's TD Waterhouse or another bank, I suggest choosing a multinational financial institution, as they usually can offer more services and customer support.

You can check out Bank One http://www.bankone.com (quite big bank) with branches in many countries. I have account with them. They offer online banking and you can apply for an account via the net, but I don't know if whole process is online. Thomas

I got a ton of eMails in the past few days about how to create a US bank account if you live outside the US. I haven't been able to respond to most of them, since my ISP's mail server was down and i had trouble accessing 90% of the websites the past few days. Anyways, i'm from Switzerland, living in British Columbia/Canada since 2 years (and moving to LasVegas in summer - no taxes !!). I went to Washington State a few months ago, and opened a 'non-US-resident' bank account on the Bank Of America ( http://www.bankofamerica.com/ ). I mainly did it so i could send and receive payments in US$ of business i do in the United States. Thats really everything I dont know if some people are having problems opening US bank accounts ...but the entire process took 40 minutes for me. Hope this helps Marc

It varies from Bank to Bank. Our Bank charges us $17.00 for any outgoing wire transfer, be it for the Bank next door or for an European Bank regards Antonio

Opening a US account is very easy it took me about 10 minutes... Few of my friends opened a bank account without Social Security Numbers, so I think everyone can open US bank account. Thomas

Hello Yes sure it is possible if you go to USA. But the problem arises when you want to open it online! If you can share that ton of emails ( or at least their web address ) I will appereciate very much. Best regards, Mac

have you guys even considered, the amount of tax you would be paying? plus, the losses in the exchange? its easy to open it.. yes.. but there are other factors you should consider...

There was once a interesting thread on this board about forming a LLC or Inc in the US as a foreigner. You can also do a search on your favorite search engine. There are in fact companies that set you up with a tax free company and also open a corresponding bank account for you. I don't remember URL but I read about company which allows you to set up your own BANK ! It prices about $10000 so it's not expensive. There are many islands/jurisdictions where you can do everything you want Thomas

Most countries that i know off, charge some amount of income tax right?? you would land up paying tax in both places.. in india for example, we have to pay the difference.. but we have to pay tax... simple as that... i think you should look deeper into this... its possible...

back from the search egines. What I found was rather expensive, $500 and up for international applications, but there have been cheaper recommendations on this forum. Start a new thread and ask for help on: "Nevada and Delaware Incorporation and LLC formation" I'm sure someone will help. Income tax applies to income generated. Receipt of funds into a bank account is not generation of income, but simply receipt of same. This is to say that a foreign company can open a Bank account in the US and not be deemed as conducting business in the US. Therefore, would not be subject to income tax. Moreover, in the US, foreigners (non-residents) do not pay any tax on interest earned on their bank accounts. Regards, Antonio

No, Kunal - the fact is you dont have to explain! You sold something (over the internet) and are receiving the proceeds from the credit card processor. This transaction is not a US-based transaction, therefore not subject to US taxation. Or do you (as a foreigner) pay US taxes for your webhosting business just because your servers are located in the US?

I've done some reading up online about incorporating in the USA. Just for background general knowledge in case I need it one day :p Anyway the most popular places for incorporating are the states of Delaware and Nevada. Delaware companies seem to be the cheepest in terms of ongoing (annual) complience prices and fees. However, as Kunal suggests there are differnt taxes that apply in the USA. The tax free part is that these companies are free from state sales tax. You are still liable for federal income tax. That's about the extent of my knowledge. With anything like this I would be very weary of who you used as a business agent for these purposes. If you have the money and want to incorporate in the USA it would be worth getting advice from an accountant. The large international accounting firms all provide offshore and "tax-haven" services that include incorporation and banking. It is an expensive exercise to go through such a firm but probably less risky at the same time.

I live in the UK and opened up an account with Bank of America in Florida. All it took was $1000 minimum to fund the account UK Passport photocopy UK Drivers Licence photocopy Couple of phone calls Couple of faxes Now I have a Bank of America chequebook and a BoA Visa can check it all online One thing about applying on-line - you will get to a stage where you are asked for a number.
