Which one to choose: CentOS 32/64bit?

I'm planning to order a VPS with CentOS5. Should I select 32/64 bit version? Both are available. 64bit version attracts me, but is there any compatibility problems with older stuff?

Both are available , it depends totally on the applications which you are going to use on the server.

Are you going to use any control panel, what applications are you going to run, is that a managed or unmanaged VPS, is your provider comfortable with 64 bit. Ask yourself few question to decide which one suits you better.

I think people should stop being afraid of 64bit otherwise we wont evolve. Imagine if everyone still used 16bit OS just because of backwards compatibility

For a VPS, use 32 bit. Last edited by pauln; 10-09-2008 at 02:10 PM.
