Advice on a good SCSI/SAS raid card

Can anyone name a good SCSI / SAS raid card?
Preferably a 100% hardware RAID, no software raid stuff.

I would recommend Areca raid cards. Having tried all, adaptec, 3ware, LSI, I found Areca to be the best in terms of throughput. It is extremely expensive though and lead time was long in Singapore.

Both 3Ware and Areca are good choices, though the higher spec Adaptec (not the hostraid cards) and the LSI cards are also good.
Personally, as I tend to be not using Windows, I'll usually go with 3Ware or Areca. 3Ware in certain are good about actively supporting the non-Windows community.

But I have heard 3ware doesn't have SCSI cards, just SATA.

3Ware currently sell SAS (Serial attached SCSI), SATA (I and II) and PATA controllers - see http://www.3ware.com/products/index.asp

Ebay certainly has 3Ware cards new and used but buying from a reputable seller is surely a good idea. Try www.newegg.com and look at the 3Ware 9650's for a great PCI-E SATAII controller.
