Hosting providers and IDC's

I 've been researching this for three weeks solid, I mean I must average 4 hours daily at least. From what I have ascertained the key is the Internet Data Center that the host providing the reseller plans is on. After all you can't offer more bandwidth and access that you are able to tap into. The hard part is finding the root... the IDC. We contacted one reseller (actually got them on the phone!!!! the first contact came after phoning the 800# and hanging up at the message. 1 hour later they called back just off our Caller ID)that had no problem with us starting out on their reseller plan and then moving to their provider for our own dedicated server once we have built a customer base that justifies the increased expense for us. Yes they will lose our $$ in the long term but hey, 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing! Our niche customer base are middle aged small business owners who by and large will never get past half meg sites and are not the least bit interested in the net except that it lends credibility to their business. One site I might move is large (70 megs with about 1.2 G transfer monthly - hey I might as well make the hosting fee since they are going thru an OLM reseller and don't even know it.) Features needed are webmail, perl, CGI, PHP/mysql We prefer Unix/Linux, not Windows. Are there are any other hosts out there who don't mind divulging what IDC they are on and don't mind hosting a fledgling company whose main intent is to provide their customers hosting as a value added feature in a turnkey webpresence solution? We are trying to get as near 1st Tier as economically possible. Please PM me or email me the specifics if you are so inclined. Thanks!

From the sound of your message, it looks like you're seeking replies from hosting companies- therefore, it would probably be best if you posted this in the web hosting requests forum, since hosts are not allowed to directly contact you in any other forum. Best of luck to you in finding a host! Brian Farkas
