I am looking for a good test tool for Linux only systems I can use to stress areas like.
CPU
Memory
LAN
Disks
basic components of a system.
Anyone know of some good ones?

drive:
hdparm -Tt /dev/sda
lan: download a local speedtest file from your provider
cpu: I like to write a script that'll run "uptime" a thousand times as possible and see what the load is by the time it's finished.
Look into ApacheBench too; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ApacheBench
