NOC and DC

What is a difference between Network Operation Center and Data Center? As I understood, DC is a physical location of computers while NOC is somewhat abstract term. It means servers, routers, wires, switches and all other equipment. How wrong did I get it?

Basically ..ppl call the same thing by different names NOC (NEtwork Operations Center) and DC (Data center) You might want to have a look at the following as well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_center http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Operations_Center

Actually I did took a look at suggested links, as well as at this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_Center On that link there is a picture on the right hand side labeled "An operation engineer overseeing a Network Operations Control Room of a data center.". That is the primary reason why I thought NOC and DC aren't the synonyms. Anyway, thank you for clarifying it to me.
