DomainCentral DNS Nameserver + LxAdmin

Posted by semelak1, 10-10-2007, 05:02 AM
Hello, I 've had my vps plan activated yesterday by a2b2 and now i'm having difficulties setting up the dns settings on domaincentral.com . My understanding is that there should be a page where I can enter nameservers and their corresponding IP addresses. However, the 'modify servernames' with domainCentral only allows me to enter nameservers without fields for entering IP addresses! Also, I will appreciate it if somebody can double check the settings I have on my LxAdmin panel (they are all shown on the following images 91.186.21.217/to%20a2b2%20support/ I have been given 2 IP addresses. What I need is to have two nameservers on my VPS (ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com )corresponding to my IP addresses.

You should contact your host for support instructions, don't you think?

You need to create private nameservers. Have you tried emailing their support asking?

i'll work on that as soon as i get home. thx a bunch. on another note, I've been trying to connect to the MySQL database (installed by yum install mysql-server mysql ) with the username 'root' and passwords 'root', blank password, 'admin' but with no luck !! I always get error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)' I managed to get connected with the usernames us , localhost but they do not have sufficient privillages to create other users or change their privillages !! What's the default username/password for a newly installed MySQL server that has all privillages ?

Just to note, it's domaincentral.com's support team to contact if you're unsure (as they're the ones you want to setup your nameservers with ) For a fresh install you will usually need to set a password, here is an article found from a quick search on Google: http://www.go2linux.org/how-to-chang...-root-password That *should* help

I got the mysql problem solved. Basically, i did using Hyper VM. SSH command still doesn't work with root/blank password Anyway, I finally managed to register the nameservers ns1.mysitedomain.com (IP1) and ns2.mysitedomain.com (IP2) with the domaincentral. I'm now trying to setup the nameservers on my VPS usind LsAdmin My current configuration is shown in the following two pics : http://91.186.21.215/toa2b2/2nd%20template.jpg http://91.186.21.215/toa2b2/default%20template.jpg I would like the domain registered with domainCentral to point to my VPS. what should I change in the above two pictures to get it to work ?

First of all you have to visit the lxlabs.com website and click the demos links for HyperVM CP and for Host in a Box (Lx Admin CP). Note LX Admin is a revolutionary four level control panel consuming only 15K. Note: I've the direct links for these demos but in WHT is not permitted post links to external places. Good luck

ok, I 'm now getting this page : This is the LxAdmin Default Page If you are seeing this page, it means that the Nameserver has been setup correctly, but the site is not yet configured on the webserver. Please wait for a minute till the web server is automatically reloaded for this to change. Please contact the adminstrator for the login information. Can somebody please tell me what exactly I need to change ? I'm guessing A record, but what for ? This is what I have setup so far: http://img75.imageshack.us/img75/2932/acso7.jpg
