problem since account migration
Posted by wiredhosting, 10-09-2007, 02:03 PM |
Hello ! how is it going?
i have just migrated one account from my old server to a brand new server through a full backup of cPanel.
the problem is that the new account is not working at all, is giving an strange error that i have never seen... what could be wrong?
Account should look as
http://66.29.3.66/~engerix/
but it actually looks like...
http://www.ubuntips.com.ar/
Thanks in advance

That's really strange.
What if you do a manual backup on the old server (/scripts/pkgacct engerix) then restore it on the new server?
Also, what MySQL version is running on both servers?

Hi,
Login to Cpanel and check if the database user has privilege to access database 'engerix_wpengerix'. You could also try removing and re-adding the user to the database (make sure to use the same password as in the Wordpress configuration file).

That doesn't appear to be the problem... if you look at the links, it appears something is almost corrupted with the database on the new server.
Edit:
... and besides, if it were a privilege issue an access is denied message of some sort would be displayed.

wiredhosting,
This is happening because of the url specified in the conf file of the wordpress. It will be like http://www.ubuntips.com.ar. Either you can change it to http://66.29.3.66/~engerix/ or wait for the nameservers to propagate and it will work fine. Take a backup of the conf file first.
