Change host provider

Posted by bigdrago, 05-16-2012, 05:43 AM
Hello. I'm a reseller and I need to change host provider. With my first host provider I got a eNom account. Will I still keep this account when changing to another host provider? The new host provider (Hawkhost) don't include eNom account.

I don't see why you wouldn't continue to use it, unless it's somehow tied into your current host? You should be able to just make DNS change as you make the migration to new host.

Yea, the DNS service is completely different then your hosting account. As long as you can access the eNom account and change nameservers you can host anywhere.

Yes just by entering a dns record you can continue with enom account

Just go with HawkHost and continue to use the eNom account, otherwise go to like resellerclub or netearthone whom is a reseller of resellerclub and has even further discounted rates.

Thanks for the help folks! Seems like Hawkhost is the best option... regarding system resources the clients can use!

this information is somewhat incorrect; they are an ICANN accredited registrar

I would double-check this. We have an eNom account through WHMCS, and eNom's reseller policy states that the reseller you purchased your account through (in our case, WHMCS) must provide all first-tier support to you. So what happens if you start with an eNom account from Host A and switch to Host B? Does Host A still have to provide your first-tier eNom support? I'm not saying the information here is wrong, I'm simply pointing out what we were told by eNom. And since someone else mentioned NetEarthOne, we use them for our domains and are very, very happy with their service and pricing. I can't recommend them enough! I just wish they'd get more SSLs.

Indeed. RC and NEO are just using the same back-end (LogicBoxes).

Yes, the DNS service is another type of account, you can change from host to host and keep the same dns service from enom.
