Problem transferring an account
Posted by cuantica, 10-05-2007, 09:19 PM |
I am trying to transfer a customer account from a remote server (both servers run Cpanel) and I get this error message
Logged to my server I got this message
Packaging the account... The password you provided is not correct.
Trace Output: (bmilatco@66.29.76.xx's password:

-jailshell-3.00$ export LANG=C ; setenv LANG C ; echo ${LANG}_SSH_CLIENT=${SS
Done
Transfer Error

<<<
The account password is correct as I can login to Cpanel.
I am also able to login via ssh and trying to package the account I got this message
-jailshell-3.00$ ./pkgacct bmilatco
pkgacct started.
pkgacct version 6.0 - running with uid 32092
using time::hires for speedups

Any ideas on how can I transfer this account, I jsut have the customer password and Cpanel backups are not availables?

You appear to be running your own copy of pkgacct from a jailshell, which just isn't going to work. You need root to do a complete backup, however if you weren't using a jailshell it could be done (to an extent) without root.
How big is the site, and how many databases? You're going to have to do this manually, unless your client can ask the provider for a backup...

The site is just 160 Mb in size, 2 small databases that are not a problem.
And about 15 email accounts that I would like to have intact.
I don't care if I have to do this manually, customer asked for a backup but provider didn't answer the request, seems he is a reseller without root access neither.

Create an ftp account on the account present in the new server. Login to the cpanel of the account on remote server and initiate a full backup from the backup area. Let it be remote ftp backup and supply the ftp details there. Give host as the new server IP. A full backup will be generated inside the ftp account folder in the new server and you can restore it fine.

david, thanks but the problem is backups are disabled on remote server.
Customer asked his former provider to give us a full backup, and finally we got it.
Unfortunately the account has three addon domains that doesn't apperar on the new account panel, when I try to add the domain it fails because the domain is already set.
>>>
There was a problem creating the addondomain. Show Details
Error from park wrapper: xxxdomain.com is already configured.
<<<
Any ideas on how can I solve this problem?

It is probably due to missing domain entries in a user information related file in the server. Without root access you cannot correct it. I would say to contact your host regarding this.

Cpanel is detecting the domain xxxdomain.com's entry in the server and there will be a file for this domain that is for sure. Please contact the server admin to assist you with this.
