what the heck is wrong with HOTMAIL?

Posted by vajjas1, 08-03-2007, 03:47 PM
I am not sure if this is the right forum, i am just so frustrated with hotmail. Unfortunetly most of my clients use hotmail. After 2-3 communications in the same day, Hotmail decides i am a spammer and blocks mails from my domain. Thats were the fun starts and frustation begins. My host do not support sender id, anyone have same issues? any solutions?

We also have occasional problems when we send ticket replies to free mails such as hotmail or gmail. Often our emails get tagged a spam. There are a few things you can do to help. Ensure that you log into your SMTP to send mails, check that youR IP is not on any spam lists (if it is I advise changing it other then trying to clear). Make sure that your servers and DNS records have sufficient SPF records. There was a good article around with a more complete list. I will try and locate and post here.

What is wrong with hotmail? It's free, it offers no validation of user's existance , and it is run by microsoft. Need I say more? Ok, I will. Individuals using hotmail are putting their own mail in danger. The same goes with gmail, yahoo, and every other "free" provider out there. Sure, for personal mail, it's dandy. Really, it is! I have an account on all 3, but for professional purposes, I use a REAL email address, not one that was given for free and can't be verified or controlled except by major corporations! The long and short: Don't use this type of provider if you expect your mail to go through. If you do, well, that's your fault

Dear vajjas1, Indeed, I totally agree with linux-tech. Best Regards.
