Posted by kelemvor33, 09-29-2015, 12:05 AM Howdy, Have a website setup that has a Store on it. NO Payment Information is done over the store as it's all local and the store is really just a nice way to collect orders. However, people do Login to the store to place an order so they need to make a password which should be secured. I'm hosted through hostpc.com (aka turnkey internet). They offer some Certs and the cheapest one is AlpaSSL that they list for $29/yr. I don't know if there's any reason to buy from them or to just find something somewhere else other than ease of installing since they'd do it for me. https://turnkeyinternet.net/ssl/ I've also seen places offering RapidSSL for about half that price. Is there any reason I need any certain type of certificate? I have two stores setup but they are within the same domain but in subfolders (site.com/store & site.com/store2). I don't know anything about what makes one cert better than another or how to install them or anything. Thanks, Kel

If you were to start accepting debit cards and such on your OWN site, then I would say invest more in a certificate. Since you said all payment is done in store, then you should do fine with a basic ssl. Best of luck.
